Elif Neyzi is a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the newly established BIAA-Bilkent University Joint Fellowship Programme. She received her PhD in Classics at the University of Edinburgh with a thesis entitled “Monasticism in Late Byzantine Constantinople (1261–1453): Urban, Social, and Institutional History.” During her doctoral studies, she was awarded fellowships from ANAMED (2017–2018) and IAE (2022–2023), and served as scientific adviser for the Pera Museum’s exhibition ‘Byzantium in Popular Culture.’ She is currently preparing her first monograph titled ‘Byzantine Monasteries of Constantinople: Historical Transformation of an Urban Structure in the Late Middle Ages (1204–1453) and working on a podcast series on the reception of Byzantine cultural heritage in Türkiye.
