Olivier defended his PhD on Karian tombs in 2005 under the supervision of Pr. Pierre Debord at the University of Bordeaux (Michel Montaigne). After teaching in the U.S. (2005-2007) and holding a post-doctoral fellowship at Ko\u00e7 University, he became pensionnaire scientifique at the IFEA (Istanbul) from 2010 to 2014. He then held a chair of excellence (PSL*) at the AOrOc (UMR8546) research laboratory of the Ecole Normale Sup\u00e9rieure de Paris (2014-2016). He taught at Bilkent University from 2017 until 2020. He is now Professor of Greek Art and Archaeology at the University of Lyon 2 Lumi\u00e8re, and a researcher at the Maison de l&#8217;Orient et de la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e (HiSoMA UMR5189).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Olivier has been involved in archaeological fieldwork since 1996 and started working in Turkey in 1998. He has worked on different Karian sites including Harpasa, Orthosia, Hyllarima, Iasos, Latmos-Herakleia and Kelainai until he became director of the excavations at Labraunda in 2013. Since 2019, Bilkent and the Labraunda excavations became privileged partners through the signing of a fieldwork teaching agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Olivier has published extensively on Karian archaeology. His research interests include Funerary Archaeology, Religious Landscapes, Cultural Interactions and Architecture History in the Ancient Mediterranean.
